On 21 October 2015, members of the Homeland Security, together with other law enforcement officers, raided the 6th of October City building where independent NGO Mada Foundation for Media Development has its offices, arresting the 51-year-old head of the foundation, Hisham Ahmed Awad Jafar.

On 17 November 2015, 18-year-old student Moaz Eid Abdelazim Ismael was sentenced to two years in prison for "demonstrating without authorisation," following a flawed trial. Arrested by members of the Security Forces in early July, Moaz was secretly detained for a week during which he was repeatedly tortured. Currently awaiting a new hearing before the public prosecution in the police station where he was tortured, Moaz remains at high risk of being ill-treated again.

On 24 November 2015, Alkarama sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced of Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) regarding the arrest by the Homeland Security of 45-year-old former Egyptian Air Force pilot Hany Mohamed Hassanin Sharaf on 18 November 2015.

Alkarama's report documents hundreds of cases of death in detention resulting from torture, denial of medical care and poor conditions of detention.

On 27 October 2015, Alkarama sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture (SRT) regarding the arrests, in September 2015, of Magdy Ahmed Abdelmoaty El Husseini and his son Ahmed Magdy Ahmed Abdelmoaty El Husseini, by the General Investigations Services.

On 26 October 2015, Alkarama sent a letter to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) and the Special Rapporteur on Torture (SRT) regarding the adoption by the Egyptian authorities of new restrictive amendments to Law n°396 of 1956 on Prisons Regulations.

On 15 October 2015, Alkarama sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) regarding the case of 29-year-old journalist Mohamed Salahaddin Madani Mahmoud, arrested in March 2014, secretly detained and tortured in the aim of making him confess to crimes, and referred to the Alexandria Military Court that sentenced him to 7 years in prison.

On 8 October 2015, Alkarama sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) regarding the detention of three brothers aged between 17 and 28 arbitrarily detained since their respective arrests on 14 and 15 April 2014. Tortured on several occasions and accused under trumped-up charges, the three brothers were sentenced in absentia by Mansoura Criminal Court on 19 January 2015.

On 5 October 2015, Alkarama sent an urgent action to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) regarding the arrest and subsequent disappearance, on 13 September 2015, of two young brothers, Anas and Azzam Magdy Abdelfattah Mahmoud Allam, by the Homeland Security and the General Investigations Department.

On 24 September 2015, Alkarama sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (SRT) regarding the arrest of 32-year-old freelance journalist Hassan Mahmoud Ragab El Kabany in January 2015.
